Brewscuits

The cool folks over at Brewscuits sent us a few bags of their all-natural, hand-crafted, beer grain dog biscuits for Loki to try out. What exactly are Brewscuits? Great questions! Brewscuits are dog biscuits made from spent beer grains used during the beer brewing process. The whole grains include barley, oats, and rye. These grains are human grade, which translate to low gluten components in the grain itself. Their biscuits are made from beer grain, flour, eggs, and either peanut butter, pumpkin or sweet potato. Don't worry, the Brewscuits do not contain any alcohol since the grain is used before fermentation occurs!

According to the Brewscuits team, Brewscuits are a good source of fiber because the natural fiber burns slowly and sustains energy levels & appetites. They only use good grains (oats, barley, and rye) in their dog treats. Bad grains such as crushed corn meal has zero nutritional value.

We received all three flavours to test out (pumpkin, peanut butter, and sweet potato). The pumpkin and peanut butter came in the regular size (24 count of 3" biscuits, retails for $8 per bag), and the sweet potato was in a smaller bag (half pint, 27-30 smaller sized biscuits, retails for $6 per bag).

Loki is the biggest fan of anything sweet potato, and so his favourite Brewscuits flavour was, of course, sweet potato! YUMMY! He chowed down all three flavours like a hungry hippo, but when we placed all three flavours on the ground, he charged towards the sweet potato one first. We like how each Brewscuit is carefully hand-crafted with love in the USA, and that every product contains only four ingredients (no salt, sugar, chemicals, or preservatives added). Thank you Brewscuits for the wonderful and delicious dog treats!
